Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to commonly asked questions
ArenAudio is a native app available for both Apple iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android smartphones. Even better, it is completely cross-platform. A coach using an iPhone can seamlessly run a lesson for riders using a mix of Androids and iPhones without any technical hiccups.
For the safest and best equestrian experience, we highly recommend affordable bone-conduction headsets (you can find fantastic options on Amazon for around $25). Because they rest on the cheekbones rather than inside the ear canal, the rider maintains full situational awareness. They can hear your voice clearly while still hearing what is going on around them. These devices also work well with helmets and can't fall out.
Riders always join your lessons completely for free! For coaches, we offer three flexible subscription tiers based on your teaching volume:
Casual (US$9.99/mo): Includes 8 hours of live coaching per month.
Pro (US$29.99/mo): Includes 30 hours of live coaching per month.
Unlimited (US$79.99/mo): Unlimited coaching hours.
All tiers include our advanced AI Noise Suppression to filter out wind and arena noise. You can also choose an annual subscription to get 12 months for the price of 10.
Want to test it first? Your first 30-minute lesson is completely on us. Download the app and test the crystal-clear, zero-latency audio in your own arena before choosing a plan.
It is built specifically for both! You can easily run a private 1-on-1 session, or open the room up for group lessons and multi-rider clinics. Because ArenAudio uses a "Hub-and-Spoke" audio model, all the riders hear the coach perfectly, but they don't hear each other.
Absolutely. The Coach's app acts as a digital Command Center. If a rider is dealing with a fussy horse or excessive background noise, the coach can manually mute that individual rider's microphone with a single tap, keeping the main channel completely clear.
During a group lesson, you don't always want to broadcast a specific correction to the entire arena. "Whisper Mode" allows the coach to tap on a single rider's name on their screen and speak directly only to them. It is the perfect way to give personalized feedback to one student without interrupting the flow or focus of the rest of the group.
Actually, we recommend you don't! For the clearest audio and the safest ride, we suggest placing your phone on the arena fence or a nearby barrel. ArenAudio is optimized to maintain a crystal-clear Bluetooth connection to your headset from the edge of the arena, keeping you comfortable and your device safe.
It comes down to three things: safety, comfort, and connection.
Safety & Comfort: Falling is a part of riding, and landing on a large smartphone can cause bruising or worse. Plus, you don't need to worry about buying riding pants with massive pockets.
Device Protection: Keeping the phone off your body protects it from horse sweat, arena dust, and accidental drops at a canter.
Pro-Level Connection: The human body actually blocks wireless signals! Placing the phone on the fence gives your Bluetooth headset a clear, unblocked line of sight, completely eliminating audio dropouts.
Not at all. Modern Bluetooth headsets have an excellent line-of-sight range. In a standard dressage arena (20m x 60m), placing your phone halfway down the long side means you will always be well within range for a flawless, uninterrupted lesson.
You can easily filter out wind and background arena noise using our adjustable Noise Reduction setting. Just open the app settings and increase the Noise Reduction level. This will command our audio engine to aggressively block out wind rumble. Pro tip: If you are in a quiet indoor arena, turn this setting back down to keep your voice sounding as natural as possible and reduce delays!
You can also quickly change this setting during a session by tapping the noise reduction icon at the top of the screen.
There is a fraction-of-a-second digital processing delay, which is standard for all live internet broadcasts. You will only ever notice this if you are standing near each other and can hear both the physical voice and the headset voice at the same time. Out in the arena during a session, the communication is seamless.
